Susan Orlean is my favorite writer on The New Yorker. She has style and grace with the written word, and her Talk of the Town pieces are always the best ones. Like me, she's from the Midwest, and loves dogs. She wrote "The Orchid Thief" that was made into "Adaptation" but her short non-fiction pieces are the true gems.
