Best Jukebox Music

So now Eddie is back to moderate the music section of nycbp.com, which is the jukebox section of the message boards. There are three things Eddie knows: fighting, drinking, and country music. You should check out his blog.

Since we have the new message boards back up, we are going to be talking about the best music on jukeboxes in saloons. In addition, what are the songs you WANT to see added to your jukeboxes (or as the tech wave strikes, to the iPod under the bar, hooked up to the sound system).

What are your favorites? Post it in the message boards. I know for Eddie, he can't get enough Gretchen Wilson, so here is her biggest hit song, Redneck Woman.

Video From Coyote Ugly

I have not posted in ages about Coyote Ugly Saloon. So since I haven't actually been inside the bar, here is a video clip from a German tourist who was there. I can't identify any of the bartenders, can you?

If you want to do something funny, search on YouTube for Coyote Ugly, and see all the fake Coyote dancers around the world. Funny shit.

Renewing My Library Card

Since I was in the neighborhood last Thursday and Ayan was up for it, we hit The Library, scene of many late nights in the past. I can report the bar is still kicking ass, and more important -- Kristin is someone to drink with.

She works only two nights a week, Thursday and Sunday. Kristin was extremely friendly and fun to drink with. Kristin is the type of bartender you will go back and back and back to see -- she is good with the buybacks and remembers your drink.

Tell her you saw her on nycbp.com. The photo is courtesty of Erik.

Joan at Double Down Saloon Rocks

I finally FINALLY got a taste of Double Down Saloon, 14 Avenue A (across the street from The Library). It was actually a happy accident that I stumbled in with Ayan, he of world class drinking fame.

As you have probably heard by now, Double Down is the NYC location of a Las Vegas bar of the same name. Who cares. It's a dive bar out of the box, right down to the smells. But lets talk about our bartender, shall we?

Joan was working Thursday night. Normally she works daytimes noon to eight, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. You have to go drink with this woman. She is a terrific bartender, mainly because she is so friendly. And got us trashed. We just wanted a beer or two. Four or five later... you get the picture. Joan was great with the buybacks too. I hope we tipped enough. I do not have a new digital camera, so trust me that she's a looker, sort of a curvier Drew Barrymore from her Poison Ivy phase.

Another reason to visit Joan: the happy hour special: 2 for 1 from 2 pm to 9 pm. Wow. (The Library, within stumbling distance, has its happy hour from 5 pm to 8 pm).

We will be back!

Up and Running

By now I hope you jokers have seen the updates on the site. We now have the message boards working. There may still be an issue with cookies; this is all due to me trying to block spammers. So it looks like you can't stay logged into the site forever, you have to enter your username and password each day.

I'm revamping the interior pages, which has a new goal: new photo galleries. Yes, they are coming. They will be so cool.

In the meantime, start kicking in some bartender news!
