I am really psyched up about the first
nycbp.com booze cruise, on Wednesday, May 21. I have wanted to have one for a long time, and now it will happen. I am calling the cruise, "I Love New York 2003" for obvious reasons.
Tickets are going on sale at noon, Friday, April 4, for $45. (They will be $55 the day of the cruise, if any are left).

What I am most excited about, besides the obvious fun of sailing around the greatest city on the planet and having unlimited supplies of drinks at hand, is that I am getting some of my favorite bartenders in the city to guest bartend! It will be soooo much fun to see the bartenders from different bars together.
That was what happened when we had the first (and only)
nycbp.com bartender awards a couple years ago (that broke my bank, so there's not been another one). I have been calling and e-mailing bartenders all over town to line up a great team to work part-time on the booze cruise. There is something special about seeing a bartender from one place next to another from across town. Kind of like when Superman met Spider-Man in the old DC-Marvel cross-overs in the 1970s. I'll tell you Friday who is on the confirmed list -- but I will give you a hint -- every one of them owns a cowboy hat.

We are going on the
Half Moon, which is owned by
Marco Polo Cruises, the best in the booze cruise business in the city. They have run the successful
Murphguide cruises and the wild 2002
Who's on First Cruise (that ended with a drunk in the drink, literally).
It is a terrific boat, it holds upwards of 200 people, has 2 bars, a dance floor and lots of space to party on. This will be
open bar, with food, a DJ, and suprise guests.
Keep checking the site for details about the booze cruise, it will be a blast, that's for sure.
