Kick It Here First
Red Rock West is consistently the wildest bar to make it onto nycbp.com. Others may try stunts or one-time events, but only Red Rock is ALWAYS wild, rowdy and rambunctious. Someone e-mailed me once that Red Rock West would be much-improved if they could only get a mechanical bull inside for the customers and bartenders to ride. My question back was, WHY? The place is already like being on a bucking bronc (not that I've ever tried it).
The bartenders are all young women you either fall in love with or else want to make them your very best friends. The patrons? Well, actually, they run the gamut from mutant to manly, beautiful to Beastmaster. Red Rock West Saloon has the top bartenders in town.
No doubt about it. This Chelsea beer 'n' whiskey roadhouse -- equal parts outlaw biker bar and country dance saloon -- is like no other place in New York that tries the Girls/Charlie Daniels/Clogging theme. The people that work there are the best. An evening spent at the Red Rock is like a night spent with a good book: you have to pull yourself away.
Don't expect a quiet night. The music is LOUD and the crowds THICK at times. Its a hot, sweaty, and fun experience. Not for the faint of heart or people worried about getting beer spilled on them. It's the best place to take a tourist.
The bartenders are the stars. They have their own calendars. They turn up on MTV and magazines. And these women deserve all the attention they get.
Mention this Web site to your Red Rock bartender too! Don't miss the famous Water Dance at the end of the evening. The bar has patrons dancing at times, which is always a crowd favorite.
Be sure to mention that you saw them on nycbp.com, and tip 'em well!
