Nice Guy Eddie's
5 Avenue A; Corner of Houston
Ready for Eddie's
YOU HAVE to be brain dead not to like the bartenders at Nice Guy Eddie's.
Come on, these girls are incredible. Great service, cool attitude, and all beautiful. The owner, Dave McWater, stocks the place with truly talented bartenders who are no slouch behind the bar. Some of them work at his other bars, such as Doc Holliday's or The Library (next door to Eddie's).
Every neighborhood has one Nice Guy Eddie's hidden away, if you can find it. It gets a theme-bar name hung on it, but it isn't one. Naming your place after a Tarantino character would seem the kiss of death, but they've been kicking it here for more than seven years (and old Quentin even drops by here). It's relaxing and the wonderful jukebox isn't overpowering.
The barmaids mix 'em up right and are good with the buybacks. The food here is pretty good too, which you can eat at the bar.
The bartenders are really friendly, which isn't always common in the Lower East Side bars that are run by these art school jerks who don't know what service is and are clueless.
Be sure to mention that you saw them on nycbp.com, and tip 'em well!
